Dog Room Shower: Details, Measurements, and links
Ask me 5 years ago if I ever thought I’d be dedicating a portion of my house to a dog shower, or a dog for that matter, and I would have called you crazy.
Enter the pandemic of 2020 and Shad and I welcoming the best thing to ever happen to us into our lives… our sweet goldendoodle Benny. Now I’m certifiably insane when it comes to my Benny boy.
Enter the muddy rainy month of March and April… where the ground was absolutely saturated and Shad had to constantly carry Benny up to the second floor bath, and this had me jonesing for a first floor solution (and I so badly wanted our laundry to move into our closet on our second floor master… life changing).
A perfect solution was to put in the area where our existing laundry resided, as the water lines and drains were already run. We decided to turn this entry room from our garage into a drop-zone- dog room-dry bar for holidays combo. And I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out:

DETAILS:
How big is Benny?
To our surprise he’s alot bigger than we expected: 71 lbs. About 42” inches long.
How big is the shower?
Both Benny’s size, and the standard sizes of stock cabinetry dictated this. We left 49” for cabinets (48” of cabinetry and two 1/2” Fillers) the wall on the right of the shower is 50” in H, it’s 7.5” thick with the tile on it (and the interior has a niche to fit his shampoo bottle). The shower itself is 25” in H from the ground (yes, Benny hops up there- but he hates baths so it’s more of a forced hop up). The shower itself on the interior is 54” in length and 30” in depth.
Finishes:
Tile Shower Wall Grout: Warm Grey Mapei brand
Floor Grout: Iron Mapei brand
Upper Walls: Benjamin Moore Chantily Lace
Lower Wainscoting: Benjamin Moore Color match to the cabinetry which is Graphite

Our dog shower has been life-changing for the in-between grooming appointments, muddy paw days, and to use to get the snow off Benny in the winter. Most of all- I absolutely love having my laundry moved to my closet upstairs- it doesn’t even feel like a chore anymore.
If I left anything out please ask in the comments below ( I prefer comments over emails because they get lost in the 10’s of thousands of crap mail I get).
As always, thanks for stopping by, reading, commenting and sharing! <3 Barbra
